Is HEIF to TGA Converter right for your task?
Convert your HEIF image to TGA on your device. Prepare a TGA image for a graphics or game-asset workflow that requests TGA files.
- What to provide
- HEIF files (.heif, .hif). Keep the source if you will need to edit it again.
- What you get
- TGA still images (.tga), individually or in a ZIP. Still image output. Original dimensions are preserved.
Example input for HEIF to TGA Converter
Illustrative input, not a record of a completed test. Check the selected mode before running it.
Input: photo.heif → output: photo.tga (illustrative filename). How to convert HEIF to TGA
TGA is selected on this page. Files are processed locally; the page downloads its conversion engine on first use.
- Choose a HEIF file (.heif, .hif) or drag it into the workspace. Add up to 30 images, no larger than 20 MB each.
- Leave Convert to set to TGA. The quality slider is disabled for this output.
- Select Convert images. Open a preview and check the output dimensions.
- Download the .tga file or use Download all (.zip) for a batch. Open the result in the application you intend to use.
Why won't my HEIF file convert?
Check that the file is an actual HEIF image rather than a renamed file. Try one smaller image first; the input limit is 40 million pixels and 16,384 pixels per side. Allow the processing engine to load before retrying.
Before converting your HEIF file
HEIF and HIF inputs can contain several images. This workflow exports a single still image and does not retain container metadata.
What changes in the TGA output?
Open the result in the target application and inspect dimensions, orientation and transparent edges. Changing the container does not set up engine-specific texture import options.
Supported features and limits
Still image output. Original dimensions are preserved.
Before you use the result
- Inspect edges and any transparent areas in the exported image.
- Compare output dimensions and file size. Changing format does not guarantee a smaller file.
- Animated or multi-page sources produce one still image here. Renaming the extension does not perform a conversion.
If HEIF to TGA Converter does not work as expected
If your HEIF file fails, confirm it opens in its original application and is not just a renamed file. Try one smaller image to distinguish a format problem from browser memory limits.
Where your input is processed
The tool processes input in your browser. Loading the page and its processing libraries still needs network access. Site analytics and sharing services are separate from file processing; see the privacy explanation below. Privacy details.

A few things to know.
Which image formats can I convert?
Choose from 23 input formats and 21 output formats. HEIC and HEIF are input-only. Animated and multi-page files become a single still image. SVG input must be self-contained; convert text to paths to preserve lettering. SVG output embeds a PNG bitmap; it does not create editable vector paths. PSD output is flattened.
Will my images lose quality?
PNG uses lossless encoding. JPEG, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL and JPEG 2000 offer quality controls. GIF reduces colors, PGM is grayscale and PBM is black and white. ICO images are scaled to fit 256 × 256. File sizes may grow or shrink. Metadata, including camera and location information, is not copied.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser handles every conversion locally. Files are not sent to a server or saved after you leave this page. For browser stability, each image is limited to 20 MB and 40 million pixels.
