A little setup. A lot of possibility.

Word, slides, spreadsheets, and OpenDocument files need an approximately 240 MB engine download on first use. PDF uses a smaller, separate renderer. Keep this tab open while converting.

How to convert RTF to PNG

Create PNG images of document pages from RTF files.

  1. Choose your RTF file or drag it into the workspace.
  2. Choose the page range and rendering resolution for the PNG images.
  3. Start conversion and wait for the document engine to finish. The first use may take longer while the engine loads.
  4. Download the PNG output or a ZIP of the results. Review page breaks, fonts and tables in the generated files.

Complex layouts and unavailable fonts can change the rendered document. Check the output before printing or sharing it.

When to use RTF to PNG

Use a PNG copy when you need to place document pages in a presentation, help article or image-only upload. Each rendered page becomes an image; text inside a PNG is not directly editable or searchable.

Check your RTF conversion

Compare fonts, tables and page breaks with the original document. Higher resolution produces more pixels and can increase file size. Use page selection to export only the pages you need.

Before you use the result

  • Compare page count, fonts, tables and line breaks against the source.
  • Check clipped text, missing images and page orientation before sharing.

If RTF to PNG Converter does not work as expected

If layout differs, simplify the source layout or export from the application that created it. For slow conversion, try one short document first and allow the processing engine to load.

A few things to know.

Which office files can I convert?

PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, ODT, ODP, ODS, ODG, RTF, TXT, and CSV. Each document page or presentation slide becomes a separate PNG. Spreadsheets use their print areas and page setup; large sheets can span several images.

Are my documents sent to a server?

No. The rendering engines download to your browser, but your files stay on your device. Office conversion needs a modern browser, sufficient memory, and an initial engine download of approximately 240 MB for formats other than PDF. PDF conversion does not need the office engine.

Will the images look exactly like my original file?

PDF is the best choice for preserving a fixed layout. Word documents (DOC and DOCX) and other Office documents use LibreOffice in your browser. Unavailable fonts, charts, and advanced formatting can differ. Slide animations and transitions are not included. For exact layout, export to PDF from your original application before converting.

What are the limits?

Add up to 5 files of 25 MB each, and export up to 100 pages or 200 MB of PNG images per batch. Each page is limited to 20 million pixels. For large documents, use a page range or a lower resolution. Password-protected PDFs need their password; unlock Office files in their original application first.
