A few things to know.
Which image formats can I convert?
Choose from 23 input formats and 21 output formats. HEIC and HEIF are input-only. Animated and multi-page files become a single still image. SVG input must be self-contained; convert text to paths to preserve lettering. SVG output embeds a PNG bitmap; it does not create editable vector paths. PSD output is flattened.
Will my images lose quality?
PNG uses lossless encoding. JPEG, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL and JPEG 2000 offer quality controls. GIF reduces colors, PGM is grayscale and PBM is black and white. ICO images are scaled to fit 256 × 256. File sizes may grow or shrink. Metadata, including camera and location information, is not copied.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser handles every conversion locally. Files are not sent to a server or saved after you leave this page. For browser stability, each image is limited to 20 MB and 40 million pixels.
Converting GIF to PGM
A compact, 256-color image for broad compatibility. A portable grayscale image. Add a GIF image to the workspace, choose PGM as the output and convert. Changing a filename extension alone does not convert the file.
What changes in the PGM file?
Converts colors to grayscale. This output format does not preserve transparency; check the background before downloading. Conversion does not restore detail missing from the original. Animated and multi-page inputs export one still image.
